The Biggest Learning I have got this week!!

I have been a hunter for human excellence in order to find out what makes people succeed and what makes people struggle. I had a big learning last week in that I had realised that the only difference between those that succeed and those that struggle really comes down to their standards. It’s easy to fall into the trap of the ‘poor me’ syndrome or ‘why is life so hard’ or ‘why don’t other people get it’. The only thing is if we do that we sabotage our success. If you are not getting the results you want right now the universe is telling you one thing, and that is Raise Your Standards! NOTE: DO NOT do the same as last week and expect a different result. Thats insanity according to our friend Einstein. 

The biggest learning I got is that no matter what results you are getting right now, you want to do two things this week:

1. Trust The Process- this means that No Matter what results you are getting back you must continue to stick to the process that you know will get you the results. Never stop, never quit, never slow down and never tell yourself a story that you can’t. It is a must that you stick to the actions that you know will eventually produce the results NO MATTER what happens on the outside world. As long as you know what actions they are and you stick to them, then you are going to get to where you want to be!

2. Stay in absolute certainty- No matter how many people tell you ‘no’ or how many             people don’t respond to you, its important that you stay in absolute certainty. The                   reason is if you stay in certainty that energy is sent out into the universe and you will             attract people , events and opportunities that are a vibrational match for the result you           want. Certainty will also cause you to execute on all that you want. When you couple             certainty with massive action, you achieve great results! Leaders bring                                   certainty to an environment when there isn’t any!

How do I improve the relationship with myself?

I was thinking today, ‘what has the greatest impact on the quality of your life?’

Then I started to think, ‘is it your health? is it the amount of money you make? is it how much success you have? is it who you are in a relationship with?’

And then the answer came to me.

It is the relationship you have with yourself. You could have all the money in the world, you could have all the success in the world, you could have your dream body or even your dream partner but ultimately what has the greatest impact on the quality of your life is the quality of your relationship with yourself.

I then asked myself these questions:
‘How could I improve the quality of relationship with myself?’
‘How happy am I with the relationship I have with myself on a scale of 0-10?’
‘What would it take for me to be a 10?’

For you to be a 10 I can say you have to let go of any limiting or negative thoughts you have about yourself that cause you to feel bad.

Once you’ve discovered the limiting or negative thoughts that pop up in your mind I recommend you simply……let them go.

As Wayne Dyer says… ‘have a mind that is open to everything, and attached to nothing.’



I recommend you make two empowering decisions today that would cause you to feel great about yourself!

This is doing what I call, thinking outside the box!

How you feel in any moment in time is a decision, and only you have the power to make that decision in terms of how you feel.

Maybe you could make the decision that no matter what happens this week, you’re going to be happy no matter what. Or maybe it’s I decide to love myself no matter what, or I decide to accept myself. Another decision this week could be not one negative thought is allowed in your mind. A great exercise to do is the second you notice the negative thought come up, you say to yourself ‘erase! what I really mean is…. (and then tell yourself your new truth).’ I can tell you this really works!

Your self esteem is directly related to how much money you make by the way. So the higher your self esteem is, the greater the amount of money you make. Also the higher yourself esteem, the more you are going to enjoy your life. Life is always supporting your return to love. Always.

I want to wish you an outstanding week, treat yourself how you would want others to treat you and be kind to yourself and others.

Appreciating The Beauty Of Cracks


Perfectionism is wanting things to be perfect before you take action.

This topic is important because there is a big cost to not taking action for the price of waiting for things to be perfect. The only problem with waiting for things to be perfect is that no matter what you do anyway, it can always be improved. If youre waiting for things to be perfect for example the book you’re writing to be perfect the facebook live your planning to do to be perfect, the coaching session you plan to do to be perfect or the sales call you know you want to make to be perfect or your presentation or public talk to be perfect, you could be waiting for a very long time and even forever. And delay or waiting will kill your dream and it will destroy your ability to help people.

For some people perfectionism is something that pops up every now and then for them and they don’t use it as a road block to taking action so they make progress relatively fast. This is in comparison to the compulsive or chronic perfectionist who plans and plans and plans, and then is planning to plan, but never acts because they are still perfecting.

Which person do you think is going to make progress the fastest?

Regardless of where you are on the scale of perfectionism, 0 being not at all and 10 being the compulsive chronic perfectionist if you want freedom from perfectionism, we have to make the long journey from, what will people think? To I am enough! You have to claim the truth of who you are and know who you are is separate to what you do and its separate to what you have. You also have to be willing to give yourself a break and appreciate the beauty of the cracks or imperfections. It’s a decision to to be kind to yourself and talk to yourself in the same way you’d talk to someone you care about.

You want to own the parts of yourself that don’t fit in with who or what you think youre supposed to be. You must give up striving for other peoples approval of your worthiness.

Don’t let perfect be the enemy of done. A 20 minute walk done is better than a 10 km walk that you don’t do. The imperfect book that gets published is better than the perfect book that never leaves your computer. The sales call that you make is better than the sales call you don’t make.



Perfectionism is the enemy of done.

Its only done that leads to progress and that leads to growth. And ultimately later it will only lead to success.

The 5 Steps To Create The Success That You Want Now


You have heard before by the wise Aristotle that excellence itself is not an act, but a habit. Its your daily habits that are controlling your destiny right now. We all have 24 hours in a day. The question is, How do we use it? The ability to maximise your time and make every minute count is so important in business. Whether you are Richard Branson, Warren Buffet or any person working in a 9-5 Job it is important to use these 5 steps to get from where you are, to where you want to be!
1. Know your Purpose/Goal. Your purpose is not something that stumbles across you, nor it is something you find. Your purpose is something you decide upon. Everything in life has a purpose and if you are going to have the level of success you deserve then you must know clearly what that it. This is the internal compass that is going to drive all of your decisions. So whenever you are uncertain about something, or whenever you dont know what to do, it is your purpose that will guide you forward. It will also provide you with massive motivation provided it is something you feel deeply about and strongly believe in. Then you must also know specifically the goal you are wanting to achieve. This must be something you revisit often and are fully conscious of at all times!I highly recommend you read your goals both in the morning and at night!
2. Get super jacked motivated- It is extremely important you feel motivated daily. It is your responsibility to motivate yourself, no one elses. If you are not super motivated you wont take all the actions necessary to succeed. To motivate yourself I recommend you wake up with gratitude each morning, read your goals, connect to your purpose, listen to some personal development and then workout each day, preferably in the morning is best. When you break through physical barriers you also break through mental barriers as well!
3. Remove blocks- this is essential if you are to succeed at the level and rate you deserve. Blocks include fears, limiting beliefs, negative emotions from the past and any inner conflicts you may be experiencing. Personally I have used hypnosis and NLP to clear these out for myself and it has changed my life. Life is a dance between what you fear most and what you desire most. So if you focus on what you desire then you'll dance the dance much better. Do what you fear and the fear will disappear!!
4. Add Skills - the less you learn the less you earn and the more you learn the more you earn. Warren Buffet was right when he said this. You must add skills if you are going to continually grow and improve. Skills can include those in sales, social media, speaking, communicating, influencing etc. You can never have enough skills. Skills make the difference between someone who is average and someone who is a master. Repetition is the mother of skill. So the more you repeat it, the more skillful you become. Bruce Lee said I fear not the man who has practiced 10000 different kicks, but the man who has practiced the same kick 10000 times!
5. Action or commitment - those that succeed that fastest simply take the most action. If you're interested you'll do whats convenient, if you're committed you'll do whatever it takes. So go out there and make mistakes. The more mistakes you make, the more you will learn, and the more you learn the more you will grow! Progress = Happiness! You must know that any action is better than inaction!!

The Power Of A True Decision

Have different thoughts this week and you will produce different feelings this week. have different feelings this week and you will produce different behaviours. which will equal different results. crazy.

Most people have a life they dont want because they have been focusing on what they DONT want. if you focus on what you dont want long enough you you are actually guaranteed to create it. if you focus on what you do want and take massive consistent fearless action then you will actually create what you want. its no big secret. its just a law of the universe that whatever you focus on expands in your life.

If you make a decision on something and change your mind you are saying to the universe not only a) Dont bring me what i want but also b) you are giving an imbedded command to your unconscious mind to associate pain to what you want in your life (which means you'll sabotage yourself) and...... you are telling your unconscious mind that you cant have what you want. this is the most destructive thing you can do.

Make different decisions this week and you will produce different actions. if you produce different actions you will produce different results. If your decisions are toward what you want and if you take massive consistent action you WILL actually set a new standard for yourself and change your life, permanently. 



If you want to lead your own life and actually be a leader for others then make a decision and commit to it!! That means go all chips in, leave no stone unturned and decide to act upon what is going to be your new chosen direction. You will create a new destiny and people will also follow you because you are certain in your direction.

Nelson Mandela didnt say I have a dreammm... and then go "wait no I dont." Muhammad Ali didnt step into the ring and say "actually can I just jump out now." Oprah Winfrey doesnt go on air and say to the audience go home everyone I've changed my mind. 

The word decision comes from the latin, incision. Which means to cut off from. a true decision is where you cut off from any other possibility EXCEPT for the thing you are committed to.
Your life is where it is right now because of the sum total of your conscious and unconscious decisions up until now. It is important for your future to ask yourself these questions.....
1) What is my intention in this life?
2) What do I really want?
3) Where do I really want to be in 5 years,. 10 years and 20 years time?
4) What do I have to believe to get there?
5) what do I have to do consistently day in and day out to get there?
6) how will i celebrate as I achieve greater success?

For things to change you have to change. For things to get better you have to get better. May you create the life of your dreams!

Last year some time I was very lucky to be referred to a “Good looking Young Guy” through a client. This guy was full of beans and we further got to know each other through the 4Networking Business Community.
I watched him in a few networking meetings, spent time with him over lunches & breakfasts, got to know each other over Facebook – and I have been quite impressed at his eager freshness to hit the market hard as a new entrepreneur.
Luke Hawkins is his name and as we spoke, he said a few things that really got my attention when it comes to dealing with issues of the mind.
I then just had to invite him to Guest Blog on “The Edward Files” and he came up with this great article looking at weight loss and emotions. I trust you enjoy and thank you Luke!
“Is your weight loss emotional?” – Guest Blog by Luke Hawkins:
When it comes to weight loss, we have been sold time and time again that the latest diet, pill or ’30 day cleanse’ or ’30 day exercise challenge’ is the answer. Why is it that so many of these quick fixes simply do not work? For instance, we know that 83% of the people who go on diets regain any weight they lose plus more within as little as 2 years. Yet it is reported that up to 50% of women are on a diet at any given time. So what is it that causes someone to lose weight and keep it off forever as opposed to someone who does the latest diet, fitness challenge or cleanse only to put it all back on? The answer comes in three words YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM!
Every decision the brain makes is based on emotion. It does not matter what pill you take or what diet you go on, if you do not associate pleasure to the behaviours that would cause you to achieve your ideal body and pain to those behaviours that cause you to gain weight, then you are fighting against the current that is much stronger than you… your nervous system! The only way to make any permanent change in your behaviours is to do so in your unconscious mind where all learning and behavior change is unconscious. Why? Because 90% of our behaviours are controlled by the unconscious mind, and only 10% by our conscious mind.
When someone is having trouble losing weight it’s not the weight that is the problem, it is their unconscious mind which perceives that by you holding onto the weight it is actually providing you some positive benefit. You may think….what!! I don’t see any benefit to holding onto this weight. It is important to know that one of the most important roles of the unconscious mind is to preserve the body and keep you safe. If you have tried losing the weight and you still haven’t succeeded then you can be sure that out of need to avoid pain and gain pleasure you have decided on some level to hold onto that extra weight due to the positive benefit it is providing you. It is meeting one of your needs and being overweight actually represents a need for protection. Your weight is actually a resource as means of protecting yourself.
There are a variety of possible self protection scenarios. One example is that by holding onto the weight you are creating a barrier of separation between yourself and what you fear. That could be rejection from a potential partner again due to the pain associated with a past relationship breakup, or the fear that if you lost the weight you might attract too much attention and that would place you in a position where you wouldn’t be able to trust yourself or trust the people that you put yourself around (this can stem from childhood).
Other deeper reasons could be if someone was sexually abused they can create this barrier of separation to limit the chances of them being sexually abused again by holding onto the weight. Another reason could be if you are in a relationship and you are not happy you know by holding onto the weight you are able to punish your partner and can create a barrier of separation between the both of you. The bottom line is we all can seek protection from our fears, hurts, past pain, criticism, the unknown and judgment. When people feel insecure and not at ease, kilos will add on. When the threat is gone, the excess weight goes away by itself. Fighting fat is a waste of time and energy. Diets do not work. The minute you stop the diet, the weight goes back up. Loving and approving of yourself, trusting in the process of life and feeling safe because you know the power of your own mind make up the best diet. Go on a diet from negative thoughts, and the weight will take care of itself.
The most effective tools for change that I use for having people lose weight and keep it off forever is through the power of Hypnosis and Neuro Linguistic Programming. These tools allow somebody to change the behaviours that they link pleasure and pain to in their nervous system at the unconscious level, which is where all permanent behavior change occurs. Even though my weight is under control and I work out 3 – 4 times a week now, for years I struggled with my weight for a long time. Like many I am sure, I was an “Emotional Eater” which did me no good. I would work long hours and then turn to “Food” to help me, only sacrificing my future with every bite.
