7 Ways You Can Create a BIG Life – Carl Harvey

Carl Harvey Awesomeness Fest The Big Life

As host of The Big Life I host weekly private training sessions with the biggest personal growth experts on the planet – including Bob Proctor, Dr Joe Vitale, Christie Marie Sheldon, Lisa Nichols, Robert Greene, Vishen Lakhiani, Laura Silva, Carol Tuttle, John Assaraf… and many, many more.
All of this awesome training is geared to help you achieve one goal:
To help you create YOUR version of a “Big Life” – a fun life filled with abundance, happiness, purpose, passion, success, joy and more love than you can handle.
And – yes – champagne :-)

Here are the 7 biggest lessons I’ve learned from these amazing teachers so far:

1You need to have a vision (and be in love with it!)

If you want to create a big life – filled with more abundance, happiness, passion, love and success – the first thing you gotta do is decide what you really want.
Problem is, most people’s idea of a “vision” is focussing on what they don’t want – from “I don’t want to be in debt” to “I don’t want to be overweight anymore”.
Here’s why this sucks: we get more of what we focus on, so focussing on lack only creates more lack. Avoid this approach at all costs!
The key is to have a vision that inspires you… a vision so exciting and sexy and YOU that you simply fall in love with it and can’t stop dreaming about it. (It’s gotta be this exciting to help you overcome the inevitable challenges you’ll encounter on your road to success.)
Also, write your vision down. Bob Proctor told me there’s magic in getting your goals on paper.
Just try it. And go back to your goals some time later. You’ll see!

2. Work with your subconscious mind

The worst advice I’ve heard in personal growth is to simply “take massive action” – because, until you’re ready to succeed, this usually leads to self-sabotage, procrastination, and deeper feelings of inadequacy.
This isn’t your fault… it’s because of a fundamental misunderstanding of how our minds work.
Here’s the problem: most people only set goals at the conscious level, which neuroscience is proving to limit us to just 1-5% of our total resources. This means that 95-99% of our resources are accessed through the subconscious mind – yet most of us ignore this completely!
What this means is if we want to create MORE income, love, happiness – or anything else – in our life, wefirst need to work on our subconscious beliefs. That’s where we’ll get the most leverage and biggest results.
As Dr Bruce Lipton from Stanford University says – your subconscious mind “ultimately casts the deciding vote” on your level of success and happiness, because it’s “a million times more powerful”. Imagine that!
So, all you gotta do is make sure you’re working on a plan to reprogram your subconscious mind.
Speaking of which…

3. Practice Creative Visualization (daily)

Creative Visualization is the art and science of imagining what you want to create – in vivid, sensory-rich, “high definition” levels of detail.
The reason this is so powerful is because – as Dr Maxwell Maltz wrote in his classic book Psycho Cybernetics:
Your subconscious mind “Cannot tell the difference between what’s real, and what’s imagined.”
What this means is you can TRICK your subconscious mind into believing you’re more successful / happy / rich / sexy / loveable than you actually are – simply by imagining yourself that way, in vivid detail.
It’s a wonderful quirk of our nervous system, but it really does work. You can use visualisation to boost yourconfidence, skills, happiness, abundance, energy – and more.
The keys are repetition (practice every day for a few minutes), vividness (use ALL the senses when you imagine – including touch, smells, hearing etc) and emotions (the stronger the positive emotion you can summon, the better results.)
More than 200+ studies prove that visualisation works… so get visualizing!
living big and rich

4. Take Inspired Action

This is where things get really FUN.
Most folks worry themselves silly and give up on their goals, because they “don’t have a plan” to get there.
But here’s the good news: when you have a compelling vision, and you work on your subconscious beliefs by visualizing every day (steps 1-3), you open yourself up to receive ideas, insights, hunches and “flashes of inspiration” from the universe – ideas which you can quickly and effortlessly put into action.
As Dr Joe Vitale taught me,
“The next step is always revealed”. Always. ALWAYS!!
So don’t worry about having a master-plan. Instead, focus on your vision, and take action on the ideas that inevitably float into your consciousness.
Then rinse… repeat… and keep following the hunches ‘til you reach your goal. Simple!

5. Go Zen

I’ll keep this one short and simple:
More than 2000 studies prove that meditation has countless benefits for body and mind. This is indisputable – it will have a HUGE positive impact on your life.
But it’s not just good for your wellbeing – from a “success” perspective, meditating puts you in flow, increases your creativity, makes you feel mentally stronger, helps you become more present, boosts your focus and productivity – and makes you a nicer person to be around. (And much more.)
That’s why if you want to be the best version of yourself, I invite you to make meditation part of your daily routine.
(And if you think meditating is tough, consider the alternative – that the voice in your head you can’t seem to shut up during meditation will be running your life; unchallenged; on autopilot, FOREVER … unless you learn how to quieten it down – by meditating! Pretty humbling, right?)

6. GIVE More

When The Secret’s Bob Proctor came on my show he revealed about 1000 ideas which blew my mind and made me wish he was my grandfather.
But the best of all of them was you cannot out-give the universe.
I love this idea – at its simplest it means we should stop chasing what we want, stop trying to GET it, and instead focus on giving as much value as we can.
Give love. Give appreciation. Give better service. Give a better product. Give more time. Give more attention. Give more awesomeness. Give more compliments. Give give give give give.
Give whatever you want to receive more of.
When you shift to that level of focus, abundance starts to magnetize in your life.
It took me a long time to truly *get* this, but the more value you provide, the more money you’ll make (and the better you’ll feel about it.)

7. Have A Kick-Ass Daily Routine

I wish this final strategy was sexier, but it’s crucial – literally every guest I’ve had on The Big Life, from John Assaraf to Lisa Nichols, has stressed to me the importance of having a kick-ass daily routine.
Why? Because it builds confidence, progress, flow… and MOMENTUM.
My daily routine includes meditation, visualization, writing down a page of things I’m grateful for, and heading to the gym to get my sweat on. Oh – and gangsta rap. (It always gets me psyched up and ready to take action.) But yours can be different – obviously, the hiphop is optional – but the key is to do something EVERY DAY that puts you in a PEAK state.
Then, from that level of “higher” consciousness, you can go about your day, kicking ass and being the best version of you you can be.
Do this enough times…. and you’ll end up with your “Big Life”, filled with abundance and purpose and passion and all the other awesomeness you desire.
Peace!

Some Lessons in Life Mastery

The following is adapted from some audios delivered by none other than Tony Robbins. I hope this inspires you as we move towards Christmas...

The level of thinking that has got us to where we are, is not going to take us to where we want to go. To get where we want to be we have to take on a new level of thinking. To get to the next level we have to look at the world in a different way. One of those is you must perceive yourself in a different way, not just your capability but who you are right now, today! That shift begins the minute you decide to consciously define yourself, instead of letting the environment do it for you.

In order to achieve all that you want ask yourself who would I have to become? More fun, playful, passionate, outrageous, disciplined? What would I do when I wake up in the morning? How would I have to look at myself in the mirror? What would I have to see in myself and in others?  How would I need to treat people? How would I breathe? How would I walk and talk? How would I speak to myself? What would I think about life? What would I believe about myself?

Now imagine stepping into this person and fusing with this person and immediately go out and act that way. Then go out and conduct your life as if you were a public figure. This will make you totally transparent which is one of the qualities of influential people. An increase in the quality of beliefs creates the increase in the quality of life.

Your success and happiness is directly proportional to your level of commitment to Constant and Never Ending Improvement (CANI).

Also, your level of personal and professional success is in direct proportion to your level of commitment to CANI. This has to be measured. We must know that problems are opportunities for growth and it is best to solve them before they exist. We must find the deeper meaning and higher purpose in our perceived problems so that we can move forward and become greater as people. The toughest times of our life provide us with the greatest resources to change our life. Remember to trust yourself and have faith that all is happening for you to experience the truth of who you really are.

Have a beautiful and powerful day!

 Napolean Hill's Carnegie Secret Revealed

Napoleon Hill's Carnegie Secret

People are searching for the Carnegie Secret so intensely that they're willing to pay good money for it.  But, before they do... they should know something about the secret:  it cannot be purchased for money... and, anyone who tries to sell it for a monetary price is a fraud.  Let me explain.  If Napoleon Hill wanted you to know what the secret was, don't you think he would have told you in Think & Grow Rich?  If he wanted to make money off of the secret don't you think he would have done so in his lifetime?  Or, perhaps his foundation might have done so in the years after his death?
I thought so.

Other than being a great literary device to ensure you read the entire book with an open mind, the truth is that NO ONE can tell you what the secret is... it cannot be given away or sold.

Do you want to know why:
To help me explain, I'd like to quote several paragraphs from Think & Grow Rich in which Napoleon Hill gives his most revealing clues as to what the secret is:
A peculiar thing about this secret is that those who acquire and use it find themselves literally swept on to success. However, as is often pointed out in this book, there is no such thing as something for nothing. The secret cannot be had without paying a price, although the price is far less than its value.
Another peculiarity is that the secret cannot be given away and it cannot be purchased for money. Unless you are intentionally searching for the secret, you cannot have it at any price. That is because the secret comes in two parts, and in order for you to get it, one of those parts must already be in your possession.

I have never known anyone who was inspired to use the Carnegie secret who did not achieve noteworthy success. On the other hand, I have never known any person to distinguish themself, or to accumulate riches of any consequence, without possession of the secret. From these two facts I draw the conclusion that the secret is more important for self-determination than anything you receive through what is popularly known as "education".

As a final word of preparation, may I offer one brief suggestion that could provide a clue how the Carnegie secret might be recognized? It is this: achievement, and all earned riches, have their beginning in an idea. If you are ready for the secret, you already possess one-half of it. Therefore, you will recognize the other half the moment it reaches your mind.

So, the first half of the secret is being ready to receive it... which opens your mind to possibilities.  It cannot be given away, bought, or sold... yet, it comes with a price... the price of experience.  (Some people pay for this experience with their lives!)  The secret is more important for self-determination and it begins with an idea... your DESTINY.  So, what is the second half of the secret?

It's your FREEWILL...
It's your God-given, inalienable right, as a human being, to control and focus your thoughts on whatever you choose.  It is your ability to choose YOUR OWN purpose in life... your mission...  It's the personal power within you to make your own decisions and to stand by them...

It's DEFINITENESS OF PURPOSE... your DEFINITE MAJOR PURPOSE!
It answers the ultimate questions: "Who am I", "Why am I here?" and "What is my purpose in life?"  You are here because and your purpose in life is WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE IT TO BE!  Your secret is a CHOICE that only you can make!  That is why Napoleon Hill wouldn't tell you what the secret is and that's why nobody else can tell you what it is.

YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE YOUR DESTINY FOR YOURSELF!
Remember Napoleon Hill saying in his book that if you are ready for the secret you already possess half of it?  The other half of the secret is your FREEWILL.  Remember Napoleon Hill saying that he's never known anyone who applied the secret who didn't become successful?  That's because over 98% of the population don't have a clue as to what they want in life... the remaining 2% that do have a clue are busy making it happen and, through persistence, will eventually succeed!

Remember Napoleon Hill saying that EVERYONE who knew the secret was literally swept away to success and riches?  When you know your own secret... many doors of opportunity will open for you and your path will become clear.

Remember Napoleon Hill saying that you can either CHOOSE to be rich or CHOOSE to be poor? He was right!

If you're still not convinced that the secret is your freewill, I'll now quote the paragraphs in which Napoleon Hill mentions it directly... they are found in the last chapter of Think & Grow Rich:
You have absolute control over only one thing, and that is your thoughts. This is the most significant and inspiring of all facts known to humans. It reflects our divine nature. This ability to control your thoughts is the sole means by which you may control your own destiny. If you fail to control your own mind, you may be sure you will control nothing else. Your mind is your spiritual estate. Protect and use it with care to which divine royalty is entitled. You were given your willpower for this purpose.

Mind control is the result of self-discipline and habit. You either control your mind or it controls you. There is no halfway compromise. The most practical method for controlling your mind is the habit of keeping it busy with a definite purpose backed by a definite plan. Study the records of those who achieve noteworthy success, and you will see that they have control over their own minds, and that they exercise that control and direct it toward the attainment of definite objectives. Without this control, success is not possible.
Previously you may have had a logical excuse for not having forced life to come through with whatever you asked. That alibi is now obsolete because you are in possession of the Master Key that unlocks the door to life's riches.

The Master Key is intangible, but it is powerful. It is the privilege of creating, in your own mind, a burning desire for a definite form of riches. There is no penalty for the use of the key, but there is a price you must pay if you do not use it. The price is failure. There is a reward of stupendous proportions if you put the key to use. It is the satisfaction that will come to you when you conquer self and force life to pay whatever is asked.

And there you have it... the Carnegie Secret is that you have the ability to choose your own destiny... and achieve it through the use of your willpower.

Tony Robbins Got Purpose?

"When people say they are pessimistic, cynical or sceptical what they are really screaming out is I'm scared out of my mind, I'm afraid to dream again, I'm afraid to think about what's possible, I'm afraid to go and stand for something and go for my vision because maybe one time the person did that or they tried several times and it didn't work out so they got pain. So they stopped dreaming, envisioning and stopped coming up with meaning and instead they try and keep themselves away from the pain by saying 'there's no meaning in it all anyway' but that gives the ultimate pain because it gives you a life without meaning and no one can live a life thats fulfilled without a sense of meaning, we've been put here for a reason and the question is why? .....

"Know that every thing in life has a purpose and everybody has a special gift. It is your opportunity to find out what that is and ultimately that is up to you to decide, you must decide what that is, that is only something you can do!''

I highly recommend you listen to this. I have listened to it a few times and it really made an outstanding difference to my life and allowed me discover my purpose and decide what that is. It is my belief we are infinite in our capacity. The freedom we are most in need of is to disassemble all of the patterns that stand between our conscious awareness and our infinite capacity. If you approach these patterns in a neutral way you will understand that within it is the map to your infinite nature. The most effective way to break down these patterns is to see them as the illusions as they are, divorce yourself from them and then decide on your purpose to carry you through all of the seasons life has to offer!

Enjoy!
